Raw data import - now have an option to import Pentax DC1 format.

Access from Entry - Data Collectors - Import Raw Data.

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

Major revamp of creating dwg files for profiles and sections.

When creating a profile dwg the user can specify whether the profile is to go into model space or paper space. If going into model space you can now specify a world offset. This allows you to place in model space next to the plan view.

When creating a section dwg have 3 options. Option1 is to place each page in a new dwg in model space. Option2 is to place each page in the same dwg. Each page is offset from the previous one. There is also an option to specify a world offset. This allows you to place in model space next to plan view, profile view and section view.

If you create plan, profile and section view option you can create them all in model space. This gives extra options for plotting in Ezicad or the dwg editor of your choice.

Importing 12D ascii files.

Will now import 2d, 3d, 4d, and super strings now supported.

Can also import tin files as well.

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Ezigrade can now read in ESRI shape files containing polygons. Polygon shapes created by Trimble are short in length; with every point on shape having the same height.

We import the polygon as a single point at the geographic center with the common height.

CDS could screw up saved layers. If had a blank layer in the job, CDS tried to correct and in process could screw up the saved layers. Was only in latest updates, not last general release.

Monday, November 21, 2011

Short Line and Short Arc Table.

Radio button to set whether short line's are displayed is now found on string attributes dialog.

When creating dwg the short line and arc tables are now put out as dwg blocks.

Friday, November 11, 2011

12D ascii import partially completed.

At present only alignments supported.

Access from file menu - import 12D ascii

Section plotting. DatumRL value was sometimes being reported incorrectly.

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

Stadia, Precision Stadia and Traverse spreadsheets now have a copy and paste function.

Added in extra alive messages when saving documents. Look at lower left of screen in status bar.

Thursday, October 20, 2011

(1) If you do a strings select all and then a strings alter then layer could be set incorrectly
(2) Doing strings split. Sometimes layer, breaklines and by layer flag could be incorrectly set in the new strings.
(3) When creating dwg with points and using point text as block attributes. After editting the text offset could inadvertantly change as the offsets in the block definition where different to the block reference if the block was put out at a scale different to 1.0

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

(1) when creating symbols with attributes to dwg, the attributes saved in the block could be at the wrong size.

(2) profile design. You know have the option for the vertical curves to be represented as circular arcs. Handy for design of pipes. In profile view right click and click on plot parameters. You will see the tick box for circular arcs under the design section. A warning is shown in profile view so that you don't inadvertantly do a road design with a circular arc. For road design leave it unticked and parabola is used.

Friday, October 14, 2011

After doing a File - Save As then it was possible symbols were being repeated - fixed.
The point - scale option now has an option to scale around an existing point. You can still do an absolute scale around the 0,0 point.

Thursday, October 6, 2011

When creating a dwg with points put out as blocks with attributes. The block definitions were being put out rotated but attributes were put out horizontal. Once they were editted it caused text attributes to be displayed vertically.

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

Program could crash if displaying layer names on screen and layers were more than 25 characters long.

Friday, September 23, 2011

When creating dwg's with point numbers, codes etc put out as attributes the blocks themselves did not contain any block attribute definitions. By including these Acad can do global shifts, global changes etc on each particular attribute.

Friday, September 2, 2011

When plotting the option to plot chainages at an angle was turned off. Fixed.

String listings. 3d area was reporting as 2d area - now fixed.

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

When saving field edges as strings - the strings are now put out in colour black (red was too hard to see).

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Creating triangles - tweak in discon's/breaklines for breaklines close together.

Thursday, July 28, 2011

Printing / plotting of utilities (ie symbols) fixed in section outputs.

For symbol to be drawn in section the following things need to be done.

The point in the section must have a point code. When interpolating profiles and sections make sure you tick the box to include intersections with strings. Make sure strings for example a pipe are drawn.

The point is added to the section as part of the section. You also need to set it as a fixed point. In the section view - right click and select "reference coordinates". Change the appropriate point with the code so that the fp column is now showing as 1. Hit OK to save.

You must have a feature code library set up with the name of "section". ie from entry - menu - feature codes and setup a code library of section. The code library must have an entry that corresponds to the code. For example if you have a code of pipe then there must be an entry in feature code library of pipe as well.

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Following has been updated
  • heights, triangles, field-edges default to being off
  • elevation and section elevation plot preview. Can now define the color's used and the height ranges. Values are stored for next job

Thursday, July 21, 2011

Cogo - stakeout report was broken on last update.

Monday, July 18, 2011

File - Save As was corrupting the layer table; fixed.

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Stakeout report. Now includes option for csv / rtf and also allows output of bearing in decimal degrees.

Friday, July 8, 2011

Point averaging - height was not being averaged.
On screen display by mode - now uses the accuracy value. For example set height accuracy value to 4 and it now displays onscreen to 4 decimal places.

Thursday, July 7, 2011

Smartened the point average routine. A tolerance value has been added in. Points within the specified tolerance are averaged. Multiple batchs of points can be averaged in one command.

Smartened the point average routine. A tolerance value has been added in. Points within the specified tolerance are averaged. Multiple batchs of points can be averaged in one command.

Monday, July 4, 2011

added in option to put grid points into the database. Handy back in CDS for creating difference surface's , checking volumes etc. From File menu - click on "save grid points to database"

Friday, July 1, 2011

Best fit circle added in. From strings - utilities menu.

Thursday, June 30, 2011

Section plotting - The datum value could be displayed in incorrect position.

Friday, May 20, 2011

CDS2 Import 2.1.014

point input - last point often not imported - fixed.

Thursday, May 19, 2011

Added in a fix for layers. CDS2.1.0.82 was writing layers table incorrectly. This version tests for and corrects layer table to be compatible with later versions.

Thursday, May 12, 2011

When displaying area's of strings with nearly closed strings - some of the strings could become corrupted. Fixed.

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

When creating a new level sheet the program would often hang. This has been fixed.

When doing a join if the mouse click was within 5 pixels the point is selected; otherwise the screen coordinates are given. We have increased this to 8 pixels.

Friday, April 8, 2011

Feature code library - if a database point was shorter than code library entry it could get inadvertantly used.

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Cross section plotting.

  • Design templates are now cut off at the limits.

  • vertical boxing line now drawn at the lilits

  • you can force section to display right to offset limits even if data doesn't go that far. Makes all sections the same width on plot.

Feature coding - nullify option just added had a problem. Fixed.

Monday, April 4, 2011

We have added in a new column into feature coding called "nullify height". This sets the height to null for any appropriate points. A are you sure message box is displayed before heights are changed. This is for when you pick up a number of feature points, but are not interested in the height. In fact the height gets in the way.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

When interpolating profiles and sections. We have added a new tick box "remove redundant points" and a value box. If you tick this the software compares 3 points at a time. If the middle point is within the set perpendicular distance to the line joining pt 1 and 3 then this point is deleted. You then start again comparing the two points left and the next point along. However the software will not delete points at constant chainage along the profile. For points on a section, the centre point is not deleted and any points that are the result of string intersections.

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Sometimes first entry would always display as a STN shot even though it wasn't.

Friday, March 11, 2011

Bug introduced when adding in profile intersections. If you have deleted a profile alignment and you then subsequently go into the profile view window; then program can crash. Under Windows7 it doesn't fail.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Added in an option when interpolating profiles and sections. You now have the option ofexcluding triangle intersections when also getting intersections with displayed strings. Look for tick box "String Intersections (No Triangle Intersections)".

Also if not doing side headings when plotting sections, then Datum is now displayed.

Friday, March 4, 2011

When creating combined surface from natural and design surface. Some of the natural points under design surface could be inadvertantly included in the combined surface. Only happens when data is gridded.

Monday, February 28, 2011

Platform design - we have changed the way "alive" messages are displayed in the status bar on the bottom of the screen.

Text not always displaying at correct height when printing if print window is rotated.

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Sometimes design codes went missing from output section plot.

Have added in an extra tick box to not display side headings when displaying section plots. This means you can fit more sections onto a plot.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Section printing and plotting. The display natural heights at design point button was broken.

Cogo - offset calcs - chainage and offset.

When entering in points by chainage and offset now have the option to also add in code to points calculated.

When running CDS for first time it is possible that the database unit is not set properly. This is fixed.

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Height text was being printed at wrong height if decimal point was not over the point (DOP).

Thursday, February 3, 2011

When plotting sections. Reference height would sometimes go into the wrong box.

CDS now does not let you open a new job if it has the same name as data from a previous version.

Monday, January 31, 2011

CDS2DATAENTRY 2.2.9 (traverse)

The traverse adjustment report was showing the slope distance. This has been changed to displaying reduced horizontal distance.

Friday, January 28, 2011

We have added in some tools to aid in the design of road intersections. From the profile view you can right click and you have the two new options:
(1) Set Intersection Grade - CDS now displays a red marker if 2 or more roads intersect. The "set intersection grade" will calculate the start height and grade so that any road transitions are correct.
(2)Kerb Return Design - This function automatically sets the start and end height and grades for the design. This would be typically used for the design of a kerb return. ie gutter/kerb on edge of 2 intersecting roads.
There is a new tutorial on our web site. From - go to tutorials and view tutorial 26 "intersection design"
