CDS 2.3.0.2

Major revamp of creating dwg files for profiles and sections.

When creating a profile dwg the user can specify whether the profile is to go into model space or paper space. If going into model space you can now specify a world offset. This allows you to place in model space next to the plan view.

When creating a section dwg have 3 options. Option1 is to place each page in a new dwg in model space. Option2 is to place each page in the same dwg. Each page is offset from the previous one. There is also an option to specify a world offset. This allows you to place in model space next to plan view, profile view and section view.

If you create plan, profile and section view option you can create them all in model space. This gives extra options for plotting in Ezicad or the dwg editor of your choice.

CDS 2.3.0.1

CDS 2.2.0.40

(1) If you do a strings select all and then a strings alter then layer could be set incorrectly
(2) Doing strings split. Sometimes layer, breaklines and by layer flag could be incorrectly set in the new strings.
(3) When creating dwg with points and using point text as block attributes. After editting the text offset could inadvertantly change as the offsets in the block definition where different to the block reference if the block was put out at a scale different to 1.0

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

CDS 2.2.0.39

(1) when creating symbols with attributes to dwg, the attributes saved in the block could be at the wrong size.

(2) profile design. You know have the option for the vertical curves to be represented as circular arcs. Handy for design of pipes. In profile view right click and click on plot parameters. You will see the tick box for circular arcs under the design section. A warning is shown in profile view so that you don't inadvertantly do a road design with a circular arc. For road design leave it unticked and parabola is used.

Friday, October 14, 2011

Thursday, July 28, 2011

CDS 2.2.0.34

Printing / plotting of utilities (ie symbols) fixed in section outputs.

For symbol to be drawn in section the following things need to be done.

The point in the section must have a point code. When interpolating profiles and sections make sure you tick the box to include intersections with strings. Make sure strings for example a pipe are drawn.

The point is added to the section as part of the section. You also need to set it as a fixed point. In the section view - right click and select "reference coordinates". Change the appropriate point with the code so that the fp column is now showing as 1. Hit OK to save.

You must have a feature code library set up with the name of "section". ie from entry - menu - feature codes and setup a code library of section. The code library must have an entry that corresponds to the code. For example if you have a code of pipe then there must be an entry in feature code library of pipe as well.

Cross section plotting.

  • Design templates are now cut off at the limits.

  • vertical boxing line now drawn at the lilits

  • you can force section to display right to offset limits even if data doesn't go that far. Makes all sections the same width on plot.

Feature coding - nullify option just added had a problem. Fixed.

Monday, April 4, 2011

CDS 2.2.0.20

We have added in a new column into feature coding called "nullify height". This sets the height to null for any appropriate points. A are you sure message box is displayed before heights are changed. This is for when you pick up a number of feature points, but are not interested in the height. In fact the height gets in the way.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

CDS 2.2.0.18

When interpolating profiles and sections. We have added a new tick box "remove redundant points" and a value box. If you tick this the software compares 3 points at a time. If the middle point is within the set perpendicular distance to the line joining pt 1 and 3 then this point is deleted. You then start again comparing the two points left and the next point along. However the software will not delete points at constant chainage along the profile. For points on a section, the centre point is not deleted and any points that are the result of string intersections.

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

CDSDATAENTRY 2.1.0.15

Sometimes first entry would always display as a STN shot even though it wasn't.

Friday, March 11, 2011

CDS 2.2.0.17

Bug introduced when adding in profile intersections. If you have deleted a profile alignment and you then subsequently go into the profile view window; then program can crash. Under Windows7 it doesn't fail.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

CDS 2.2.0.16

Added in an option when interpolating profiles and sections. You now have the option ofexcluding triangle intersections when also getting intersections with displayed strings. Look for tick box "String Intersections (No Triangle Intersections)".

Also if not doing side headings when plotting sections, then Datum is now displayed.

Friday, March 4, 2011

CDS 2.2.0.15

When creating combined surface from natural and design surface. Some of the natural points under design surface could be inadvertantly included in the combined surface. Only happens when data is gridded.

Monday, February 28, 2011

The traverse adjustment report was showing the slope distance. This has been changed to displaying reduced horizontal distance.

Friday, January 28, 2011

CDS 2.2.0.6

We have added in some tools to aid in the design of road intersections. From the profile view you can right click and you have the two new options:
(1) Set Intersection Grade - CDS now displays a red marker if 2 or more roads intersect. The "set intersection grade" will calculate the start height and grade so that any road transitions are correct.
(2)Kerb Return Design - This function automatically sets the start and end height and grades for the design. This would be typically used for the design of a kerb return. ie gutter/kerb on edge of 2 intersecting roads.
There is a new tutorial on our web site. From foresoft.com - go to tutorials and view tutorial 26 "intersection design"
